Atlantis x Connect: a shared vision of headwear and skateurbanism.

In September, Atlantis Headwear travelled to France for its collaboration with Connect Festival in Bordeaux, exploring the world of skateurbanism. Together with the festival team, we selected the Dad Hat-S and Cruz, customized with dedicated embroidery. With the support of our reseller Full Ace, we also brought a Live Printing Experience to the Village, where adults and children could create their own customized cap. A project that brought together headwear, skate culture and creativity in a shared experience.

Connect is an international festival founded in Bordeaux to explore the relationship between skateboarding, culture and urban space, creating opportunities for communities, creatives and professionals to come together.

This context gave rise to the first collaboration between Atlantis Headwear and Connect. Together with our reseller Full Ace, we brought a Live Printing Experience to the Village, where adults and children could customize their own caps with graphics created for the festival, transforming the product into a direct and personal experience.

The Challenge

Collaborating with Connect meant approaching a skateboarding community directly for the first time. The main challenge was therefore to identify products that were not simply consistent with the identity of the event, but that could authentically represent the language and aesthetic of the people who were there to experience it.

The starting point was therefore not the product, but the community.

Through several discussions with the Connect team, we explored shapes, fits and aesthetic references from the skate world, discussing which Atlantis styles could naturally fit into this context.

A shared selection process that allowed us to bring two different worlds together without forcing the connection: on one side, our experience in headwear; on the other, the festival team’s direct knowledge of skate culture. The goal was to identify two caps capable of becoming part of the event’s identity and, above all, of being genuinely worn by its community.

The Journey

Our discussions with the Connect team led us to two styles: the Dad Hat-S and the Cruz. The first is one of the iconic shapes in the Atlantis collection, while the Cruz is a more recent addition, introduced with the 2026 collection. Two different interpretations of headwear, selected to connect with different styles and personalities within the same community.

Once the shapes had been defined, the focus shifted to customization. Together, we identified the most suitable logo, placement and decoration technique, choosing embroidery inspired by Connect’s brand identity to transform the two styles into a special production dedicated to the festival.

The caps were then distributed throughout the three days of Connect to different people involved in the event, including speakers, partners and brands attending the festival, becoming a tangible part of the spaces and activities of the event.

For Atlantis, this collaboration represented above all a first encounter with a new culture: starting by listening to the community, finding the right product and using customization to build a connection between headwear, skate and urban identity.
